Winter Vaccinations
RSV
We are currently rolling out vaccinations against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) – a virus that results in thousands of hospitalisations each year primarily in babies and older populations. This is a new vaccination developed to provide protection against RSV and so we are currently offering the vaccination to a number of eligible patients.
Eligible Patients:
- Pregnant mothers – vaccination issued after 28 weeks
- Adults aged 75 -79
This is, currently, a once in a lifetime vaccination for adults, and for each pregnancy for pregnant mothers. The vaccine is not seasonal and will be available all year-round. Flu
We are currently running our flu vaccination campaign to ensure strong patient immunity throughout the winter season.
Eligible patients:
- Pregnant women
- All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31st August 2023
- Primary school aged children (from reception to year 6) – normally given a school
- Long stay residential care home patients
- Immunocompromised individuals and close contacts
- Front line health workers
Covid-19
Covid-19 vaccine helps to protect against COVID-19 which can be a serious or life-threatening illness. It’s offered on the NHS to people at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19.
You maybe offered a COVID-19 vaccine if you:
- Are aged 65 or over
- Are pregnant
- Are aged 6 months to 64 years and have an increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 because of a health condition or treatment.
- Live in a care home for older adults
- Are a frontline health or social care worker
