Who do I see?

Routine appointments

To make an appointment, patients should either telephone or call at the surgery of their choice during opening hours, or you can now book an appointment online, please click on the link below to complete a patient request form

Patients have the right to express a preference to see a particular doctor or nurse, but it should be understood, that you might have to wait longer for an appointment if your preferred choice of Clinician has a longer waiting list than other clinicians. When requesting an appointment our receptionists will ask the reason you want the appointment, this is to ensure they care navigate you to see the correct person, if you do not wish to disclose your problem, please state it is personal.

A separate appointment is needed for each patient.

An appointment is normally for ten minutes and is for one patient only.

Telephone Appointments

The doctor’s & nurses are available to give telephone advice. If you require a telephone consultation, please inform our receptionists when making an appointment.

Cancelling your appointment

Any patient that is unable to keep an appointment should let the surgery know as soon as possible to enable us to allocate/offer the appointment to another patient.

Extended Hours – Via Connect Healthcare

These appointments are available at various sites in the Rotherham area to book through our receptionists, for acute problems. Evening appointments can be booked during in the week and appointments can be booked on a Saturday and Sunday dependent upon availability.

Our receptionist can also book physio appointments at various hubs in Rotherham, please ask them for details.

Home Visits

These are reserved for those genuinely unable to attend at the surgery. In general, most patients can be safely brought to the surgery without causing harm no matter what the medical problem.

Requests for home visits should be made before 10.00am. It is for the doctor to decide whether a home visit is necessary based on the information that is given on the patient’s symptoms/condition. Please be prepared to give this information to the practice team member who takes your call. Please give a contact telephone number if possible.

Please be beware that it may not be a GP from Shakespeare Road Health Centre who attends, this maybe a GP from the hub services.
